Bill Gates Sebut Manusia Cukup Kerja 3 Hari Seminggu Berkat Teknologi AI

- Pendiri Microsoft Bill Gates berbicara soal manfaat kecerdasan buatan (artificial intelligence/AI) yang bisa mengubah umat manusia. Bahkan teknologi ini memungkinkan seseorang hanya perlu kerja tiga hari dalam seminggu.
Pendapat Bill Gates ini terlontar saat dia hadir dalam sebuah wawancara di sebuah podcast (siniar). Di sana ia memberikan pandangannya soal manfaat teknologi AI untuk manusia.
"Tujuan hidup bukan sekedar melakukan pekerjaan. Jadi jika pada akhirnya Anda mendapatkan masyarakat di mana Anda hanya harus bekerja tiga hari dalam seminggu atau lebih, mungkin itu tidak masalah," kata Gates, dikutip dari The Business Standard, Senin (1/1/2024).
Gates memprediksi kegunaan AI di masa depan, yang mana mesin bisa menangani tugas-tugas penting. Sehingga itu akan mengurangi kebutuhan akan tenaga kerja manusia yang berat.
Ia menganalogikan ini dalam contoh pergeseran generasi di dunia kerja, di mana seorang kakek hanya menganggap bertani sebagai satu-satunya pekerjaan. Sedangkan sang ayah yang merupakan anaknya bisa melakukan beragam pekerjaan.
Gates menambahkan bahwa saat ini hanya 2 persen orang Amerika yang terlibat dalam pertanian. Itu dianggap sebagai penyimpangan dari pandangan tradisional.
Gates berpendapat, jika kemajuan teknologi berjalan dengan kecepatan yang wajar dan pemerintah mendukung mereka yang beradaptasi terhadap perubahan, maka hal ini akan berdampak positif.
Dia menekankan pentingnya membantu seseorang dalam memperoleh keterampilan baru untuk transisi yang harmonis.
"Perangkat lunak membuat segalanya lebih produktif. Namun pada akhirnya, jika Anda membebaskan tenaga kerja manusia, Anda dapat membantu generasi yang lebih tua dengan lebih baik," imbuhnya.
Gates juga menyebut kalau manusia masih tetap diperlukan dalam dunia kerja meski muncul teknologi AI. Syaratnya, mereka harus terampil untuk menggunakan teknologi baru itu.

- Microsoft founder Bill Gates talks about the benefits of artificial intelligence which can change humanity. This technology even allows someone to only work three days a week.
Bill Gates' opinion came out when he appeared in an interview on a podcast (siniar). There he gave his views on the benefits of AI technology for humans.
"The purpose of life is not just to do work. So if in the end you get a society where you only have to work three days a week or more, maybe that won't be a problem," said Gates, quoted from The Business Standard, Monday (1/1/2024 ). Gates predicts the use of AI in the future, where machines can handle important tasks. So it will reduce the need for heavy human labor.
He analogized this to the example of a generational shift in the world of work, where a grandfather only considered farming as the only job. Meanwhile, the father, who is the child, can do various jobs.
Gates added that currently only 2 percent of Americans are involved in agriculture. It was considered a departure from traditional views.
Gates believes that if technological progress runs at a reasonable pace and the government supports those who adapt to change, then this will have a positive impact.
He emphasized the importance of assisting a person in acquiring new skills for a harmonious transition.
"Software makes everything more productive. But ultimately, if you free up human labor, you can help the older generation better," he added. Gates also said that humans are still needed in the world of work even though AI technology is emerging. The condition is that they must be skilled in using the new technology.
